DOWELL AND VERSTEEG RECALLED TO CHICAGO
Bolland re-assigned to Rockford
Chicago, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Monday that the National Hockey League club has recalled forwards Jake Dowell and Kris Versteeg from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Tallon also announced that center Dave Bolland has been re-assigned to the IceHogs from Chicago.
For Dowell and Versteeg, the call-up marks the first in their young careers. Dowell is currently skating in his first full professional season. In 17 games with Rockford this season, Dowell has five goals and four assists. The Eau Claire, Wis. native has also established himself as one of Rockford’s top penalty killers. After completing his senior season at the University of Wisconsin in 2006-07, Dowell played in nine games with the Hawks top affiliate in Norfolk.
Versteeg has played in 16 contests with Rockford and has accumulated a pair of goals and nine assists. In his last eight games, Versteeg has two goals and seven assists. The Lethbridge, Alberta native was acquired by Chicago on Feb. 2 along with a conditional draft pick for Brandon Bochenski.
Bolland played in seven games with Rockford before getting recalled to Chicago on Oct. 26th. With the Blackhawks, the second-year centerman tallied three assists in 10 games. The recall was the second of Bolland’s career. Before his call up, Bolland was leading the IceHogs with four goals.
Next Home Game: Friday, Nov. 23 vs. Quad City Flames. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. The IceHogs and Flames meet for the first time at the Rockford MetroCentre. The first 2,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs Championship Ring Statue commemorating the club’s Colonial Cup Championship in 2007.
