DEFENSEMAN TIM ERIXON ASSIGNED TO ROCKFORD
Chicago, Ill. – The Chicago Blackhawks announced Sunday that they have assigned defenseman Tim Erixon to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Erixon, 24, has appeared in eight games with the Blackhawks this season after being acquired in a trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Dec. 14, 2014. Prior to the trade, the d-man recorded one goal and five assists in 19 games with Columbus this season.
The Port Chester, N.Y. native shows 78 games of NHL experience between the New York Rangers and Blue Jackets. Overall, Erixon has registered 13 career NHL points (1g-12a) and 32 penalty minutes. The 24 year-old was drafted in the first round (#23 overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames.
Next Home Game: Friday, Mar. 6 vs. Oklahoma City at 7 p.m. The IceHogs complete their season series with the Barons as Oklahoma City returns to the BMO for Rockford Hockey Club Night. Rockford will be recognizing youth hockey in the community by wearing specialty Rockford Hockey Club sweaters during the game.
