Defenseman Michael Krutil Signs AHL Contract with IceHogs
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, announced today that defenseman Michael Krutil has been released from his amateur tryout (ATO) agreement and signed a standard player’s contract (SPC) for the 2020-21 season.
Krutil, 18, has appeared in three games with the IceHogs this season (no points) including his professional debut on Feb. 6 against the Chicago Wolves. In January, he attended training camp with the Blackhawks and began the 2020-21 season with HC Stadion Litomerice in the Czech Republic, adding one goal in four games. The Praha, Czech Republic, native also skated in four contests for his country (no points) during the 2021 World Junior Championship. Last summer, Krutil was selected by the Blackhawks in the fourth round (110th overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
The Rockford IceHogs continue their four-game homestand on Thursday, Feb. 18 against the Grand Rapids Griffins at 6:00 p.m. at BMO Harris Bank Center.
