DEFENSEMAN MCARDLE ASSIGNED TO INDY
ROCKFORD, Ill – The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs today announced they have assigned defenseman Josh McArdle to their ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel.
McArdle, 24, has skated in 13 games with the IceHogs this season, tallying one goal and two assists. He made his AHL debut on Nov. 4 at Iowa, logged his first career AHL point with an assist on Jan. 25 vs. Manitoba and netted his first goal on Feb. 6 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The first-year defenseman also posted his first career point streak for Rockford this season with helpers in back-to-back games on Jan. 25-26.
The Roscoe, Illinois native returns to the Fuel where he has combined for four points (1g, 3a) and 21 penalty minutes in 26 ECHL games. McArdle scored his first pro goal on Nov. 10 vs. Cincinnati and recorded an assist with a season-high four shots on goal just two games prior to being recalled by Rockford on Dec. 29 vs. Brampton.
Overall, the defenseman has logged six points (1g, 5a) in 36 career ECHL games over the last two seasons between Worcester and Indy.
