Defenseman Brayden Hislop Staying in Rockford for 2026-27 Campaign
Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs and General Manager Mark Bernard announced that the team has signed defenseman Brayden Hislop to a one-year AHL contract for the 2026-27 season.
“We are thrilled to bring back Brayden for a full year in our organization," said Bernard. "When our depth was tested this season, Brayden stepped in and filled a role extremely well at the AHL level. We look forward to watching his growth continue next season.”
Hislop, 22, earned his first AHL call-up by signing a PTO with the IceHogs this past March. The left-shot defenseman would go on to skate in 13 games with Rockford, recording four assists and finishing the year with a +6 rating.
Last season, the St. Clements, ON also laced up for 36 games with the Jacksonville Icemen in the ECHL and picked up 11 points (3G, 8A). Before turning pro, the left-handed defenseman played parts of three OHL seasons between Saginaw, North Bay and Guelph.
