Team Red's
Patrick Kane stole the show in the first of Tueday's two scrimmages, tallying four points (1 goal, 3 assists) in Red's victory over Team White.
Cristobal Huet gave Red the opportunity to jump out to a three-goal lead in the first half of the contest, allowing just one score in his 25 minutes of work while his teammates. 2008 draft pick
Shawn Lalonde also recorded two assists in the game for Red.
Team White made a charge to start the second half, closing to 4-3 behind goals by
Duncan Keith and
Bryan Bickell. However, Kane and non-roster invitee Bracken Kearns scored back-to-back tallies to put the game away.
Team White's
Corey Crawford was solid in his 25 minutes of work, allowing just two goals, while teammate
Joe Palmer allowed four in the first half. Team Red's
Joe Fallon allowed three goals.
GAME 2
TEAM B (BLACK) - 5
TEAM A (RED) - 2Team Black's
Troy Brouwer and
Jonathan Toews accounted for 4 of their team's 5 goals in a rout of Team Red 5-2 during Tuesday's second scrimmage. Team Black goaltenders
Alec Richards and
Antti Niemi each allowed one goal in their respective 25 minutes of work.
Brouwer opened the game with two unanswered goals against Team Red's
Joe Fallon before Red's Maxime Tanguay cut the lead in half on a successful penalty shot. Black answered back by scoring 3 of the next 4 markers, including one from Toews and an empty-netter from Brouwer to complete the hat trick.
Cristobal Huet relieved Fallon in the second half and allowed two goals before being pulled for an extra attacker late in the game.
Team Red's
Dave Bolland sat of for the third conseutive game with a lower body injury. Head coach Joel Quenneville says that Bolland is progressing and is expected back soon.
