DAVID GILBERT SIGNED TO AN ATO BY ROCKFORD
Rockford, Ill. – Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Sunday that center David Gilbert (ZHIL-behr) has signed an amateur try-out agreement with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League
The Chateauguay, Quebec native spent his second season with the Acadie-Bathurst Titans in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The 20 year-old racked up 51 points (28g-23a) in 52 games.
In 209 career QMJHL games between Quebec and Acadie-Bathurst (2007-11), the centerman has tallied 70 goals and 86 assists.
Gilbert was the Blackhawks seventh round pick (#209 overall) in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Last season, Gilbert played in one game with Rockford and registered an assist in his professional debut.
