ROCKFORD, Ill – The Chicago Blackhawks today announced they have assigned defenseman Carl Dahlstrom to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Dahlstrom, 23, has skated in 11 games with Chicago this season, tallying three assists and 12 shots. The blueliner made his NHL debut on Feb. 10 at Minnesota and notched his first career NHL point with a helper on Feb. 17 at the Washington Captials. Dahlstrom followed the effort with assists in three of four games from Feb. 17 – March 1.
The native of Stockholm, Sweden returns to the IceHogs where has amassed a career-high 23 points (3g, 20a) in 47 games this season. Prior to his recall to the Blackhawks, Dahlstrom led all IceHogs defensemen in points and ranked tied for the overall team lead with a +14 rating. He also represented the IceHogs at the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic in January.
Dahlstrom was originally selected by the Blackhawks in the second round (51st overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. He made his professional debut with the IceHogs during the 2014-15 season and has combined for 35 points (9g, 26a) in 123 career games with Rockford from 2014-18.

The IceHogs host the Iowa Wild at 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
