Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs won an overtime thriller Friday night, 2-1 over the Texas Stars inside the BMO Center. Oliver Moore had his second-straight two-goal game and the OT winning goal.

Just 1:15 into the 1st period, Brett Seney found a loose puck in the crease and guided it to Oliver Moore, who snapped in his third goal in the last two games.

The Hogs earned a 5-on-3 power play, but Stars' goaltender Remi Poirer helped keep the score 1-0 going into the 2nd. 

In the middle period, Texas tilted the ice down to Rockford's end. Drew Commesso thwarted every Stars chance towards his net, making 15 2nd period saves.

The Stars battled and evened the score at 7:12 of the 3rd period with an Antonio Stranges tally. Rockford's defense killed off a Texas power play chance to force overtime.

In the extra frame, Nick Lardis fed Moore down the wing who roofed a wrister into the top left corner to give the Hogs their second overtime win of the young season.

Rockford is back in action on Saturday, October 18 with a 7:00 pm puck drop at Allstate Arena against the Wolves. The Hogs are back home on for Dia De Los Muertos Night against the Griffins on Saturday, November 1 at 7:00 pm inside the BMO Center.
