CIAMPINI AND MATTSON RECALLED FROM INDY
Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the 2015 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, announced that they have recalled forward Daniel Ciampini and defenseman Nick Mattson from the ECHL’s Indy Fuel.
Ciampini, 25, has registered one goal in eight games with the IceHogs this season. In 19 games with the Fuel this season, Ciampini has notched 10 points (3g-7a).
The Concord, Ont. native played in 15 games for the AHL’s Worcester Sharks in 2014-15 upon completing his senior season at Union College. While with the Sharks, he had three goals and three helpers (six points).
Mattson, 24, has appeared in three games with the IceHogs this season, including his AHL debut on October 30 against Iowa. He has collected seven assists and a +6 rating in 30 games with Indy.
The Chanhassen, Minn. native advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four with the University of North Dakota in both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, and totaled 17 goals and 61 assists in 153 career games with UND over four season.
Mattson was drafted in the sixth round (#180 overall) by the Blackhawks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
