The inaugural Chicago Blackhawks Celebrity-Am, presented by CDW, will be hosted by the Western Golf Association on Monday of this year’s BMW Championship week, WGA officials have announced.

The Celebrity-Am – set for 9:00 a.m. on Labor Day Monday, Sept. 6 – will be held on the Dubsdread course at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, Ill., where the top 70 players in the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup standings will compete the following Thursday through Sunday in the BMW Championship.

“With the Chicago Blackhawks winning the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs, we thought it would be appropriate to bring some of their stars out to Cog Hill before the start of our championship, the third PGA TOUR Playoff event for the FedExCup,” said Vince Pellegrino, WGA vice president of tournaments. “The Blackhawks have generated a lot of enthusiasm and pride for Chicago sports fans, and we welcome this unique opportunity to salute their championship while bringing some added excitement to Cog Hill.”

The Celebrity-Am will feature current players from the Chicago Blackhawks, former Chicago Blackhawks players and media celebrities. Amateur golfers will have a rare and privileged opportunity to not only play golf with a celebrity, but to do it on the championship course of a PGA TOUR playoff event during tournament week. Teams of one celebrity and three amateurs will start their rounds with a 9 a.m. shotgun start

All proceeds from the BMW Championship, including the Celebrity-Am, will be donated to the Evans Scholars Foundation, which has provided full tuition and housing college scholarships to more than 10,000 deserving men and women caddies since 1930.

“At CDW our Circle of Service philosophy extends beyond serving customers to reaching out to the communities in which our co-workers work and live,” said Thomas E. Richards, president and chief operating officer, CDW. “As the Official Technology Sponsor of the PGA TOUR and as a local Chicago company, we are pleased to partner with the Chicago Blackhawks and Western Golf Association to highlight the BMW Championship and support the important work of the Evans Scholars Foundation.”

Tickets to the Monday Blackhawks Celebrity-Am event are $10 and include free parking. Children 16 and under will be admitted free. Chicago Blackhawks season ticket holders will be admitted to the event for free and also will receive discounted tickets to the BMW Championship for the duration of tournament week. For tickets to the event or to reserve playing positions in the event, contact the BMW Championship office at (847) 724-4600.
