How have the Blackhawks been spending their offseason? chicagoblackhawks.com recently sat down with your favorite players to see how their summer has gone so far and discuss some of their aspirations for the 2012-23 NHL campaign.
What did you do this summer? Did you stay home or go on vacation? I’m living in St. Louis, and I’ve been back and forth from Chicago. I’d planned on going on vacation, but I kind of got away from that. There’s a lake about two hours from St. Louis, which is a lot of fun, so I’ve been out there a couple of times.
What’s the best thing you’ve done so far? I got my new golf clubs, so I try to golf as much as I can.
Did you keep in touch with or hang out with any teammates? Yeah, I’ve been back in Chicago a couple times, and I always meet up with the guys for dinner or drinks and just hang out. I usually keep in touch with them quite a bit. It’s mostly the younger guys—Shaw, Bickell, Hayes, and Leddy.
Are you trying to work on any particular skills or parts of your game? Skating and stickhandling are the two that I could use the most work in.
What’s your personal goal for next season? Stay up all year and make a big enough impact to increase my role on the team.
