Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Tuesday that defenseman Jonathan Carlsson has been reassigned from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League to the Toledo Walleye (ECHL).
Carlsson, 21, has appeared in six games for Rockford in his first season in North America. The Uppsala, Sweden native has been held scoreless in those games while recording six penalty minutes. The young blue liner was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft as the 162nd pick overall (Round 6).
He skated in a career high 55 games with Brynas IF Gavle in the Swedish Elite League in 2008-09, notching an assist and 78 penalty minutes. In 109 games at the professional level, Carlsson has notched seven points (3g-4a) and 119 penalty minutes.
