After the Houston Aeros took Game 1 of the Calder Cup Finals, the Binghamton Senators bounced back to knot the series up at 1-1 with a 2-1 overtime win on Saturday.

Bobby Butler put the Senators out in front 1-0 for the second time in as many games in Game 2 when he tallied a power play marker at 1:45 in the first period.

The Aeros quickly responded less than three minutes later when they found themselves with the man advantage and Casey Wellman fired in his sixth goal of the playoffs.

Binghamton netminder Robin Lehner was tested in the final frame but he held the Aeros off the board to force overtime. Houston outshot the Senators 10-3 in the third period.

In the extra session, Binghamton pivot Jim O’Brien sent the puck to the back of the net at 7:54 to steal Game 2 as the series heads to Binghamton for Game 3 on Wednesday, June 1.

The loss marked just the third time that Houston dropped a contest at the Toyota Center in the postseason and Binghamton improved to 9-2 on the road in the playoffs.
