COLORADO SPRINGS,Colo. – Defenseman Mark Stuart (Rochester, Minn./Boston Bruins) and forward Adam Burish (Madison, Wis./Chicago Blackhawks) have been added to the roster of the U.S. Men’s National Team that will compete at the 2008 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship, USA Hockey announced today.

Stuart skated in all 82 regular-season games for the National Hockey League’s Boston Bruins, tallying four goals and four assists. He also appeared in all seven of Boston’s playoff games. Burish played in 81 regular-season games for the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and recorded eight points (4-4). He was named 2007-08 Blackhawks Man of the Year by the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois.

Stuart, who will make his IIHF World Championship debut, played two years (2000-02) at USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program. He has represented the U.S. in major international competition on three previous occasions. He captained the U.S. National Under-18 Team to its first-ever gold at the 2002 IIHF World Under-18 Championship and accomplished the same feat as captain of the U.S. National Junior Team at the 2004 IIHF World Junior Championship. Stuart also skated for the U.S. National Junior Team at the 2003 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Burish, who captained the University of Wisconsin to the NCAA championship in 2005-06, will represent the United States in international competition for the first time.

The U.S. Men’s National Team will compete at the 2008 IIHF World Championship in Quebec City, Quebec, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, May 2-18.

NOTES: Team USA will conduct its training camp beginning today through April 30 in Portland and Falmouth, Maine, including a pre-tournament game against Sweden on Sunday (April 27) at 7 p.m. (EDT) at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
