BROVEMBER TOURNAMENT: FINALS
Rockford, Ill.- With the calendar turned and November underway, the Rockford IceHogs are kicking off a “Brovember” tournament, and the Hogs want your help to crown Mr. Brovember and raise funds and awareness for men’s health.
Players will be matched up in photos on Facebook and the voting is simple, all you have to do is comment on said Facebook photo, or donate money into a donation bin labeled with each player’s name and picture on it. Donation bins will be located in the concourse at every home game through the month of November. Proceeds from the event will go to Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center.
Following the Nov. 30 game against the Milwaukee Admirals the IceHogs will crown a Mr. Brovember based on the players who receive the most votes and raises the most money. Each week players will face off head to head, with the player receiving the most votes after five days moves on and the winner will be announced Nov. 30. Below is a breakdown of how the bracket will work.

Of course the IceHogs encourage fans to join in the fun and participate in Brovember as well. Any fan sporting a mustache or beard of their own will receive a $5 discount on tickets for the IceHogs game on Wednesday, Nov. 27 against Milwaukee.

Because of the popular trend of Movember and no-shave November – facial hair has become synonymous with the month of November and bringing national attention to men’s prostate cancer. Locally, Brovember Beard-A-Thon has become an annual fundraising event that gives participants an opportunity to ditch the shaving routine and get in touch with their inner Grizzly Adams. The Brovember Beard-A-Thon is a one-of-a-kind event that gives everyone an opportunity to participate through their actions and words, as participants’ band together to raise funds and awareness for men’s cancer initiatives in the our community.
