Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs rolled past the Milwaukee Admirals 5-3 on Friday night inside the BMO Center.

After a scoreless 1st period, Nick Lardis opened the scoring early in the 2nd with the Hogs shorthanded. The rookie snapped a shot from the high slot over the shoulder of Milwaukee's Matt Murray.

30 seconds later, Brett Seney exited the box and sniped into the top corner to give the Hogs a 2-0 advantage. The Admirals countered back with a power play goal from a Daniel Carr in front.

At 15:39 of the middle frame, IceHogs rookie Martin Misiak scored his first pro goal when the puck slid off his leg and into the net. Now up 3-1, the Hogs went right back to the attack. Ethan Del Mastro led a rush up ice and spotted Jamie Engelbert driving the net for a doorstep tip. 

Sam Rinzel earned two assists in the period alone, helping Rockford build a 4-1 lead entering the 3rd. With eight minutes to go, the Ads' Jake Lucchini banged in a rebound from the far post to cut the deficit to two.

Less than a minute later, Cole O'Hara made it 4-3 with a wrist shot from the slot. Rockford was tested with two full minutes of 5-on-3 penatly kill time. Brossoit and company held tough and kept the Admirals off the board.

With time ticking down, the Admirals pulled their goaltender for the extra attacker. Laurent Brossoit from his crease sent the puck 200 feet and into the yawning cage to push the score to 5-3.

Up next, the Hogs travel to take on the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday, December 12 at 6:00 p.m. at Van Andel Arena. Rockford returns to the BMO Center on Saturday, December 27 at 7:00 p.m. The first 1,500 fans 14 and under will receive a youth jersey giveaway presented by Westside Children's Therapy.
