Breaking: Kevin Lombardi Returns to Rockford for 2026-27
Rockford, IL - Rockford IceHogs' General Manager Mark Bernard announced today that the team has re-signed forward Kevin Lombardi to a contract extension through the 2026-27 season.
Lombardi has skated in 32 games with the IceHogs this year and picked up 21 points (12g, 9a). The second-year pro also suited up for 15 games with the Indy Fuel and pocketed 18 points.
"Kevin has been a constant in our line-up since his recall in early December", said Bernard. " He has taken advantage of this opportunity and we are thrilled to have him extended for next season. His development over the last two years has been tremendous. We love his versatility in our line-up and the advantage it creates for us."
The Schwenksville, PA native spent the majority of last season in the ECHL with the Fuel and earned four games with the IceHogs.
Lombardi turned pro after completing his fifth season with Sacred Heart University, notching a career high 25 points and wearing an "A". Throughout his full time at the NCAA Division One level, the 6-foot-5, 230-pound forward grabbed 75 points in 131 games with the Pioneers.
