Breaking: IceHogs Sign Jamie Engelbert to Contract Extension
Rockford, IL - Rockford IceHogs' General Manager Mark Bernard announced today that the team has re-signed forward Jamie Engelbert to a contract extension through the 2026-27 season.
Engelbert has skated in 60 games with the IceHogs in his rookie AHL season. In his first year with Rockford, the forward has recorded eight goals and 17 assists for 25 points to go along with 44 penalty minutes.
"Jaime has enjoyed a great first season in the AHL after playing for Coach Nightingale last year in the ECHL. He's a big body that moves very well and thinks the game at a high level", said Bernard. "We are very excited to have him back for a second season and watch his continued growth at the AHL level."
The Cobourg, ON native is coming off of his first year in professional hockey where he saw action with three different teams: the Bloomington Bison, South Carolina Stingrays and Manitoba Moose.
Engelbert spent five seasons with Providence College at the NCAA level before jumping to the pros. The 25-year-old played in 145 games with the Friars, totaling 45 points during his tenure in Rhode Island.
