Brandon Pirri Returns to IceHogs from Blackhawks
ROCKFORD, IL – The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that they have received forward Brandon Pirri from the Blackhawks.
Pirri, 29, has two goals and three points in two contests with the IceHogs this season. The Toronto, Ontario, native registered his two goals in his return to an IceHogs uniform for the first time since 2014 on Mar. 3 vs. Grand Rapids. He has skated in one contest with the Blackhawks this season (Jan. 13 vs. Tampa Bay, no points).
In 364 career AHL games, the Toronto, Ontario native has recorded 332 points (132 goals, 200 assists). Pirri won the John B. Sollenberger Trophy as the AHL’s top point-scorer with 75 points (22G, 53A) during the 2012-13 season with the Rockford IceHogs. He is the IceHogs' all-time leader in points (203) and assists (133) and ranks third in team history with 70 goals, trailing Jeremy Morin (90) and McNeill (72).
The Rockford IceHogs head home to BMO Harris Bank Center to take on the Iowa Wild on Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20 at 6:00 p.m. During pregame warmups on Friday and Saturday, each Rockford IceHogs player will wear the name of a healthcare hero or frontline worker in the Rockford community on their jersey nameplate as a special tribute to Rockford-area healthcare heroes.
