BRANDON BOLLIG JOINS FORMER ICEHOGS TEAMMATE IN CHARITY GAME

Vs PEO Bollig
Rockford, Ill.- As players are gearing up and training for the upcoming 2011-12 season, Rockford IceHogs center Brandon Bollig, along with former teammate Kyle Hagel, are taking a break from their offseason workouts to participate in the Hockey Players For Kids’ inaugural classic charity game on Thursday, June 23 in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The HP4K Classic will be held at the Gale Centre, located in Niagara Falls, Ontario at 7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public with the purchase of a $5 ticket at the door. Free admission is offered to children under the age of 12. All proceeds from the event will be shared between HP4K and local Niagara non-profit organizations.

The HP4K Classic charity game is a way to formally bring together the members of HP4K, various hockey celebrities and local talent for a day of fun and hockey in the Niagara area. The classic will give spectators a chance to watch HP4K members Bollig and Hagel, along with HP4K members such as Darroll Powe of the Philadelphia Flyers, Erik Condra and Colin Greening of the Ottawa Senators, Mike Moore of the San Jose Sharks and many more. The night will include auctions for jerseys and memorabilia, and will raise awareness for HP4K.

During the 2010-11 season, the IceHogs made 183 community appearances, including 64 by the players and coaches during the busy 80 game season.

Hagel, named the 2010-11 IceHogs “Man of the Year”, conducted a reading program through HP4K at Kishwaukee Elementary School in Rockford for the school’s fourth and fifth graders during the ‘10-11 campaign. The program offered the students incentives with the winners getting a chance to play in a floor hockey game against Hagel, Bollig and several IceHogs players in front of their classmates.
