ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Chicago Blackhawks today announced they have assigned forward Lance Bouma to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Bouma, 27, has spent he 2017-18 season with the Blackhawks, notching nine points (3g, 6a) and 36 penalty minutes in 53 contests. He tallied a goal and assist for his lone multi-point effort on Oct 21 at Arizona and registered his final point (an assist) with the Blackhawks on Feb. 12 at the Coyotes. The winger skated even-or-better in 40 of his 53 contests with Chicago prior to joining the IceHogs.
The Provost, Alberta native was originally selected by the Calgary Flames in the third round (78th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut with Calgary in 2010-11, skated in his 300th NHL game on March 29, 2017 against the Los Angeles Kings and has combined for 76 points (30g, 46a) and 210 PIMs in 357 career NHL appearances between the Flames (2011, 2013-17) and Blackhawks (2017-18).
In addition, Bouma has posted 16 goals and 11 assists for 27 points in 95 career AHL games with Abbotsford from 2009-13.
