Boqvist Reassigned to IceHogs
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Chicago Blackhawks today announced they have reassigned defenseman Adam Boqvist the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Boqvist, 19, made his professional debut with Rockford on Oct. 4 at Iowa. He skated in six games and collected 14 shots on goal with a +1 rating over his first stint with the Hogs. The blueliner then netted his first professional goal and Rockford’s first power-play marker of the 2019-20 season when he beat Ville Husso in the IceHogs’ 6-2 win vs. San Antonio on Oct. 30.
The Falun, Sweden native was recalled by Chicago on Oct. 31 and made his NHL debut on Nov. 2 at the Los Angeles Kings. He appeared in six total contests with the Blackhawks from Nov. 2-13, scoring his first NHL goal on Nov. 3 at the Anaheim Ducks.
Boqvist was originally selected eighth overall by Chicago in the 2018 NHL Draft.
