BOLLAND AND VERSTEEG BACK IN THE HOGS MIX
Chicago, Ill.-General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have assigned forwards Dave Bolland and Kris Versteeg to the Rockford IceHogs.
Bolland had been recalled from Rockford on December 6th and had appeared in eight games for the Blackhawks before breaking his finger while blocking a shot against Edmonton on December 23rd. He had missed the last 15 games with that injury. Overall this season, Bolland has played in 18 games for the Blackhawks scoring one goal and six points with six penalty minutes. Bolland scored his first career NHL goal on December 16th against the Florida Panthers.
Overall, Bolland had been recalled to Chicago twice this season. While with Rockford, Bolland amassed six goals and four assists in 14 games. The Mimico, Ontario native received his first NHL recall of the season on October 26th.
Versteeg had been recalled from Rockford on January 2nd and had appeared in eight games for the Blackhawks before injuring his shoulder on January 16th versus St. Louis. Overall this season, Versteeg had played in 11 games for the Blackhawks scoring two goals and four points with six penalty minutes. Versteeg collected his first career NHL goal on January 3rd against the Phoenix Coyotes.
Prior to his second recall of the campaign, Versteeg ranked second on the IceHogs in scoring. In 30 games overall with Rockford, Versteeg has nine goals and 20 assists.
Both players will report to Rockford in preparation for the IceHogs next game which will be on Friday night at Peoria.
