BOB MILLS NAMED NEW ICEHOGS BROADCASTER
Rockford, Ill.- The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs announced that Bob Mills has been named the team’s play-by-play broadcaster.
Mills comes to Rockford after serving as the Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting with the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears since the team’s inception in 2012. A veteran broadcaster of over 400 professional games, Mills has also called games for the Chicago Express (ECHL), Bakersfield Condors (ECHL) and Gwinnett Gladiators (ECHL).
The University of Bowling Green alumn was named the ECHL’s Broadcaster of the Year in 2012 and was a part of two ECHL All-Star Game broadcast teams, including the 2011 and 2015 events.
Mills will assume the role of Communications Coordinator/Broadcaster in Rockford. In addition, Nate Haeni has been promoted to Manager of Communications for the IceHogs. Mills replaces Mike Peck in the broadcast booth as Peck takes on the role of IceHogs’ Director of Business Operations for the organization.
