BLACKHAWKS SELECT SEVEN AT 2015 NHL DRAFT
Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks drafted left wing Graham Knott (54th overall), defenseman Dennis Gilbert (91st overall), defenseman Ryan Shea (121st overall), right wing Radovan Bondra (151st overall), right wing Roy Radke (164th overall), defenseman Joni Tuulola (181st overall) and right wing John Dahlstrom (211th overall) at the 2015 National Hockey League Draft at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Fla. on Saturday, June 27.
Knott, 18, recorded 43 points (25G, 18A) in 59 regular-season games with the Ontario Hockey League’s Niagara IceDogs. His eight power-play goals were tied for third on the team. The Etobicoke, Ontario, native then added four points (2G, 2A) in 11 postseason games. Knott tallied five goals and an assist over the final two games of the regular season, including a hat trick on March 3 at Sudbury. The left wing also led Canada to a gold medal in the 2014 Under-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (4A) and earned a bronze medal at the 2014 Under-18 World Championship (1G, 3A).
Gilbert, 18, totaled 27 points (4G, 23A) in 59 games with the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League’s Chicago Steel last season. The Williamsville, N.Y., native paced team defensemen in points and assists and ranked 13th among USHL blueliners in points. He ended the season with a four-game point streak (1G, 5A). Gilbert played in the 2015 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and was named to the 2014-15 USHL All-Rookie Team. He is committed to attend the University of Notre Dame.
Shea, 18, collected 35 points (6G, 29A) in 22 games as captain at Boston College High School last season. The Milton, Mass., native also added nine points (3G, 6A) in 14 games with the Cape Cod Whalers U-18 team and appeared in two games with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL. Shea is committed to attend Northeastern University.
Bondra, 18, registered 12 points (6G, 6A) in 17 games with Team Slovakia U-18 and appeared in four games with Slovakia U-20. He totaled four points (2G, 2a) in 15 regular-season games with HC Kosice, in addition to three points (1G, 2A) in 15 postseason games. The Trebisov, Slovakia, native also skated in seven games for Slovakia in the 2015 World Junior Championships and potted one goal in four games for Slovakia in the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. He also recorded three points (2G, 1A) on behalf of Slovakia in the 2014 U-18 4 Nations Tournament and two goals in three games for Slovakia in the 2015 Vlado Dzurilla Tournament.
Radke, 18, collected 18 points (9G, 9A) in 64 regular-season games and four goals in nine postseason games for the Barrie Colts of the OHL last season. The Geneva, Ill., native previously tallied 40 points (19G, 21A) in 49 games at Shattuck St. Mary’s Midget Prep in 2013-14. He also amassed eight points (1G, 7A) with Chicago Mission Bantam Major AAA in 2010-11 and 30 points (17G, 13A) for Team Illinois Bantam Minor AAA in 2009-10.
Tuulola, 19, tallied 10 points (5G, 5A) in 32 games with Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho (HPK) of the SM-liiga and four assists for HPK U-20 in Jr. A SM-liiga. The Hämeenlinna, Finland, native also collected two helpers in three games for Finland at the 2014 U-20 4 Nations Tournament. Tuulola has totaled 29 points (9G, 20A) in 59 games over three seasons with HPK U-20.
Dahlstrom, 18, notched 54 points (34G, 20A) in 44 total games between Frölunda U-18, Frölunda Jr. and Frölunda of the Swedish Hockey League last season. The Kungsbacka, Sweden, native also scored one goal in four games for Sweden in the 2015 U-18 5 Nations Tournament and tallied two assists in five games on behalf of Sweden in the 2014 U-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
