Rockford, Ill. - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Wednesday that the National Hockey League club havs extended their affiliation agreement for the 2011-12 season with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.

The 2011-12 campaign marks the third consecutive season that the Walleye will serve as the Chicago Blackhawks ECHL affiliate.

"Once again, we are thrilled to be affiliated with the Toledo Walleye as Joe Napoli, Nick Vitucci and the entire Toledo organization have been first class over the previous two seasons," said Bernard. "Nick has and will continue to do an excellent job developing our young prospects in an environment that is second to none at the ECHL level."

Toledo finished the 2010-11 season with a 33-33-4-2 record and saw six players split time between Rockford and Toledo, including Blackhawks draft picks Simon Danis-Pepin and Peter LeBlanc.

"We have thoroughly enjoyed our relationship with the Chicago Blackhawks,” said Napoli, Walleye President/General Manager. “Mark Bernard has been a pleasure to work with as we continue to develop future AHL and NHL talent."
