Blackhawks Recall Wisniewski
The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled defenseman James Wisniewski (6-0, 207) from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs and have activated him from Injured Reserve.
Wisniewski, 24, who was on a long-term injury exception conditioning loan, appeared in two games with Rockford, which includes recording professional career highs with three goals and four points in the squad’s 7-2 win over the Chicago Wolves last Saturday.
The Canton, Michigan, native has not appeared in any games with the Blackhawks this season while recovering from a knee injury sustained during the offseason. Last season, he led Blackhawks defensemen and ranked second overall on the squad with a career-high 103 penalty minutes, while registering career bests with seven goals, 19 assists and 26 points in 68 matchups.
Wisniewski has appeared in 137 games over the last three seasons with Chicago, racking up 43 points (11G, 32A) and 178 penalty minutes.
