BLACKHAWKS RECALL RASMUSSEN
Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward Dennis Rasmussen (RASS-muh-suhn) from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Rasmussen will wear number 70 for the Blackhawks.
Rasmussen, 24, has 16 points (8G, 8A) in 44 games with Rockford this season. The Vasteras, Swe., native’s eight goals are tied for third among the IceHogs on the campaign. Rasmussen also scored one goal in three preseason games with Chicago.
Previously, Rasmussen tallied 85 points (40G, 45A) in 149 career games with Växjö in the Swedish Hockey League from 2011 to 2014. Last season, Rasmussen ranked 10th in the league with 40 points (16G, 24A) in 52 games. Rasmussen also appeared for Sweden in international competition, helping Sweden to a bronze medal at the 2014 World Championships and the 2010 World Junior Championships.
Rasmussen signed as a free agent with the Blackhawks on June 10, 2014.
Additionally, the Blackhawks have placed forward Kris Versteeg on long-term injured reserve (LTIR). Versteeg has 27 points (9G, 18A) in 34 games this season. The Lethbridge, Alberta, native is tied for second on the Blackhawks with a plus-14 rating.
