BLACKHAWKS RECALL PIRRI
Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forward Brandon Pirri from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Pirri, 19, was the Blackhawks’ second selection (59th overall) in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft. The Toronto, Ontario native tallied one goal, one assist and posted a +1 plus/minus rating in two preseason tilts with Chicago this year. He ranked second on the club, seventh in the league, and first among ECAC rookies with 43 points (11G,32A) in 2009-10 during his freshman season at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute.
The Blackhawks will launch their 2010-11 regular-season home opener on Saturday with a special red carpet event on Madison Street in front of the United Center from 5:00 to 5:30 P.M. Chicago hosts the Detroit Red Wings at the United Center at 7:30 P.M. after raising their 2010 Stanley Cup Championship Banner. Saturday’s home opener will be broadcast on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and Chicago’s WGN Radio.
