IceHogs leading scorer joins the Blackhawks

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have recalled forward Peter Regin from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Regin, 28, has posted 10 points (4g-6a) for the IceHogs, tying him with Mark McNeill for the team lead in points through the first 11 games. Regin paces the club with two game-winning tallies, both in overtime, including the IceHogs 5-4 victory against Lake Erie on Nov. 4.

The 28 year-old registered four points (2g-2a) in 17 regular season contests for the Blackhawks in 2013-14 and also appeared in five 2014 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

The pivot was acquired by the Blackhawks on Feb. 6, 2014 with Pierre-Marc Bouchard from the New York Islanders in exchange for a fourth round draft pick. In 239 career NHL games between Chicago, New York and Ottawa, Regin has accumulated 66 points (23g-43a).

Next Home Game: Saturday, Nov. 8 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins. Game starts at 7 p.m. Rockford will make their salute to the Armed Forces when they host the Griffins for Military Night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. In addition to recognizing past and current service men and women throughout the night, the first 2,500 fans will receive an IceHogs camouflage hat courtesy of Pepsi.
