Rockford, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Dylan Olsen from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs. Additionally, the Blackhawks have reassigned defenseman Simon Danis-Pepin from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye to Rockford.
Olsen, 21, has recorded four shots on goal in two games with Chicago this season. The Blackhawks first selection (28th overall) in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft made his NHL debut in a 5-4 loss to Philadelphia on Jan. 5, 2012.
The defenseman has tallied four goals, three assists and 44 penalty minutes in 44 regular-season tilts this year with the IceHogs in his first full professional campaign. Over parts of the last two seasons, the Calgary, Alberta, native has registered 11 points (4g- 7a) and 54 PIMs in 86 regular-season AHL contests.
Danis-Pepin, 23, shows nine points (3g-6a) and 17 penalty minutes in 25 games for Toledo this season. The Montreal, Quebec native appeared in 33 contests for the Walleye last season, registering three goals and nine assists.
Danis-Pepin is entering his third season with the IceHogs after appearing in 23 contests and recording a goal and three assists with the IceHogs in 2010-11. The 23-year-old made his professional and AHL debut with Rockford on Oct. 4, 2009 in a loss at Peoria and notched his first professional goal in a win over Chicago on Oct. 16, 2009.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Feb. 11 vs. Chicago Wolves. The second straight contest between the Wolves and Hogs starts at 7:05 p.m. It is another Illinois Lottery Cup tilt and the 10th of 12 matchups between the two teams.
