Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled goaltender Jason LaBarbera and defenseman Klas Dahlbeck (DAHL-beck) from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

LaBarbera, who was acquired by Chicago from Edmonton on Dec. 14, posted a 15-15-2 record with a 2.94 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage in 32 games with the IceHogs. Prior to the trade, he appeared in seven games with the Oilers, earning a 1-3-0 record with a 3.28 GAA and a .870 save percentage, and posted a 0-1-1 mark with a 1.93 GAA and a .953 save percentage in two games with AHL’s Oklahoma City Barons.

The Burnaby, British Columbia, native has seen action in 182 career National Hockey League games with the NY Rangers, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Phoenix and Edmonton, registering a 60-73-19 record with six shutouts, a 2.86 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage in those games. LaBarbera was named the AHL’s Most Valuable Player during the 2003-04 season and is a two-time winner of the Baz Bastein Trophy (2003-04, 2006-07) as the AHL’s Best Goaltender.

LaBarbera was originally selected by the Rangers in the third round, 66th overall, of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Dahlbeck, 22, posted a career-high 35 points (10g, 25a) in 75 games with the IceHogs. He ranked second among team defensemen, and eighth overall, in points and led Rockford blueliners in goals. Dahlbeck recorded a career-best four assists on Jan. 11 vs. Lake Erie.

The Katrineholm, Sweden, native has earned 41 points (11g, 30a) in 145 career games with the IceHogs. He was named the IceHogs Most Improved Player following the 2012-13 campaign and co-Defenseman of the year in 2013-14.

Dahlbeck was selected by the Blackhawks in the third round, 79th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
