Chicago, IL - The Chicago Blackhawks fell 3-1 to the St. Louis Blues on the opening night of the Prospect Showcase at the Blackhawks Ice Center.

The exhibition contest marked the first of two matchups featuring prospect pools of the Central Division rivals.

Just three minutes into regulation, Martin Misiak received a feed from Jiri Felcman, then wired in a shorthanded wrist shot that found the top left corner.

The Blues punched back halfway through the first period with a tally from Jakub Stancl, who beat Chicago's Adam Gajan on the far side.

In the middle frame, newly signed Rockford defenseman Ashton Cumby, stepped in to defend after a late hit. The lefty ignited the Chicago bench with a decisive decision over the Blues' Colin Ralph.

At 11:52 of the 2nd, St. Louis took a 2-1 lead with a power play goal tapped home by Maddox Dagenais. Seconds later, Felix Trudeau punched in a rebound tally to extend the advantage.

Gajan, who made his pro debut with Rockford last April, finished strong in the 3rd period, ending with 23 saves.
