ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward David Kampf and goaltender Jeff Glass from the Rockford IceHogs. In addition, the IceHogs have recalled goaltender Matt Tomkins from their ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel.
Glass, 32, is 10-4-2 with a 2.60 GAA and .917 save percentage in 18 appearances this season. He has allowed two or fewer goals in seven of his last eight appearances and is ninth in the AHL with a 1.95 GAA over that span since Dec. 2. The Calgary, Alberta native originally made his IceHogs debut last season with a 26-save shutout on Jan. 18, and combined to finish the year with a 10-4-2 record, 2.60 GAA and .917 save percentage in 18 appearances with Rockford in 2016-17.
Kampf, 22, made his North American professional debut with the IceHogs this season and has amassed 7g-10a-17pts in 30 AHL games. He has collected seven points (3g, 4a) over his last seven contests and has scored a goal in each of his last two tilts. The Jirkov, Czech Republic native also notched a season-high five-game point streak (3g-4a-7pts) from Oct. 21-28.
Tomkins, 23, made his pro debut with the Fuel on Oct. 21 and has since gone 4-3-0 with a 2.73 GAA and .931 save percentage in eight appearances. The netminder was named the CCM/ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the period of Dec. 4-10 after leading Indy to back-to-back wins with a 1.50 GAA and .967 save percentage against Wheeling and Wichita.Tomkins combined for 88 saves over the pair of contests, including stopping a career-high 48 pucks on Dec. 8 vs. Wheeling.
Prior to making his pro debut, the Sherwood Park, Alberta native played between the pipes for the Ohio State Buckeyes for four seasons from 2013-17. He posted a combined record of 28-26-7 with three shutouts, a 3.03 GAA and .890 save percentage in 67 collegiate games, while helping lead the Buckeyes to an appearance in the 2017 Division-I Frozen Four Tournament.
Tomkins was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
