CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward Tomas Jurco from the Rockford IceHogs. In a corresponding move, Chicago assigned John Hayden to Rockford.
Jurco, 25, ranks second on the IceHogs in scoring this season with 25 points (13g, 12a) in 36 games this season. The forward has tallied goals in three of his last four games and leads the Hogs with 13 points (8g, 5a) over his last 15 contests since the beginning of December. Jurco also has five multi-point games this season, including a season-high three-point effort (1g, 2a) on opening night, Oct. 7 at Cleveland.
The Kosice, Slovakia native was acquired by Chicago from the Detroit Red Wings on Feb. 24, 2017. The forward picked up one goal in 13 games last season with the Blackhawks, and has combined for 15 goals and 24 assists in 159 career NHL games with the Red Wings (2013-17) and Blackhawks (2017).
Jurco was originally selected by Detroit in the second round (35th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
Hayden, 22, has collected 11 points on three goals and eight assists in 39 NHL games this season with the Blackhawks. He made his NHL debut last season on March 16, 2017 with Chicago and has appeared in 51 career NHL contests, tallying four goals and 11 assists.
The native of Chicago was originally selected by the Blackhawks in the third round (74th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. Prior to his professional debut, Hayden compiled 50g-41a-91pts in 127 collegiate games with Yale University from 2013-17. Hayden served as captain during his senior season in 2016-17 and was named to the NCAA All-Ivy League First Team.
Next Home Game: The IceHogs take on the Bakersfield Condors on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The contest marks another Fas Fuel Winning Weekday in 2017-18.
