BLACKHAWKS RECALL DEFENSEMAN FORSLING

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Chicago Blackhawks today announced they have recalled defenseman Gustav Forsling from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

Forsling, 22, has notched two assists in five games with the IceHogs after being sidelined through the majority of the beginning of the season with a groin injury. The defenseman made his season debut with Rockford on Oct. 24 vs. San Antonio, logged a season-high five shots on goal Oct. 28 vs. Manitoba and posted his first multi-point game of the campaign with two helpers on Nov. 10 at Chicago.

The Linköping, Sweden native spent the majority of 2017-18 with the Blackhawks, tallying a career-high 10 assists and three goals in 41 games. He was assigned to the IceHogs on Jan. 21 and concluded the campaign with five points (2g, 3a) in 18 regular season contests with the IceHogs.

Forsling also suited up for each of Rockford's 13 postseason games and notched one goal and four assists during the Calder Cup playoffs.
