Blackhawks recall Danny Richmond

General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Danny Richmond from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL. Richmond will be in the lineup tonight when the Blackhawks host the Los Angeles Kings at the United Center.

Richmond, 23, has played in 23 games for the IceHogs this season, Richmond has one goal and eight assists for 9 points and 85 penalty minutes. Richmond also has a rating of +11 which is tops among IceHogs defensemen.

Richmond is a native Chicagoan and was acquired by the Blackhawks on January 20, 2006 from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman Anton Babchuk and a swap of fourth round draft choices. Richmond has appeared in 43 games with the Blackhawks over the last three seasons, picking up three assists and 73 penalty minutes.

The Blackhawks next game is against the Los Angeles Kings tonight at the United Center at 6:00 p.m. and standing room only tickets are still available. The Blackhawks next home game is on Sunday, January 6 at 6:00 p.m. against the Detroit Red Wings.
