BLACKHAWKS REASSIGN RASMUSSEN
Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have reassigned forward Dennis Rasmussen (RASS-muh-suhn) to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Rasmussen, 24, has 16 points (8G-8A) in 44 games with Rockford this season. The Vasteras, Swe., native’s eight goals are tied for third among the IceHogs on the campaign. Rasmussen also scored one goal in three preseason games with Chicago.
Previously, Rasmussen tallied 85 points (40G, 45A) in 149 career games with Växjö in the Swedish Hockey League from 2011 to 2014. Last season, Rasmussen ranked 10th in the league with 40 points (16G, 24A) in 52 games. Rasmussen also appeared for Sweden in international competition, helping Sweden to a bronze medal at the 2014 World Championships and the 2010 World Junior Championships.
Rasmussen signed as a free agent with the Blackhawks on June 10, 2014.
