BLACKHAWKS REASSIGN DELIA TO ROCKFORD
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Chicago Blackhawks today announced they have reassigned goaltender Collin Delia to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Delia, 24, has split the 2018-19 season between Rockford and Chicago. He began the campaign with the IceHogs, posting a record of 7-5-4 with a 2.34 GAA and .933 save percentage through 17 appearances. The netminder led all qualified goaltenders in save percentage and ranked second in total saves (540), third in GAA and fifth in minutes (998:21) prior to his recall by the Blackhawks. Delia also limited opponents to two or fewer goals in 11 of his 17 outings and made 30+ saves in 11 of his 16 starts with Rockford.
The Rancho Cucamonga, California native was recalled by the Blackhawks on Dec. 17 and has since posted a 6-4-0 record with a 3.48 GAA and .909 save percentage in 15 NHL games. Delia began his NHL stint this season with three consecutive wins against Colorado (two wins) and Minnesota, turning away 116 of 121 shots over that stretch. He later matched that stretch with a career high-tying three-game win streak from Jan. 20 – Feb. 7.
Overall, Delia has combined to go 24-12-8 with a 2.58 GAA and .914 save percentage in 45 AHL games with the IceHogs, and 16-7-5 with a 3.53 GAA and .907 save percentage in 17 career NHL games with the Blackhawks.
