BLACKHAWKS RE-SIGN PELLETIER
Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks announced Friday the team has re-signed center Pascal Pelletier (5-11, 195) to a one-year contract.
Pelletier, 25, came to the Blackhawks from the Boston Bruins in exchange for center Martin St. Pierre on July 24, 2008. He made his National Hockey League debut last season with the Bruins and has spent much of his career in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins. With Providence, he led the team with a career-high 37 goals and a career-best 75 points in 73 regular-season games.
Over the last three seasons, the Labrador City, Newfoundland, native appeared in 206 regular-season games and totaled 71 goals, 99 assists and 170 points. He has also netted 69 points (28 goals, 41 assists) in 88 career ECHL contests with the Louisiana IceGators (2004-05) and Gwinnett Gladiators (2005-06).
