Eager, 25, has been held scoreless in two games with the Blackhawks this season. The Ottawa, Ontario, native posted career highs in goals (11), points (15) and games played (74) last season while leading the team and ranking 13th in the NHL with 161 penalty minutes. He has notched 501 penalty minutes and 36 points (20G, 16A) in 197 regular-season games spanning parts of six seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers (2005-08) and the Blackhawks (2008-09), which includes racking up 188 penalty minutes and 17 points (11G, 6A) in 86 tilts in a Chicago uniform.
The Blackhawks (1-0-1) open the North American portion of their regular-season schedule when they face off against the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena on Thursday at 6:30 P.M. (CT) before hosting the Colorado Avalanche in their United Center home opener on Saturday, October 10 at 7:30 P.M.
