In conjunction with Triumph Books, the Chicago Blackhawks announced today the release of the commemorative book ā€œOne Goal: Chicagoā€™s Resurgent Blackhawks,ā€ which chronicles the teamā€™s past 12 months.

The release is highlighted by two separate book signings, one each by center Patrick Sharp and Hall-of-Famer Bobby Hull. Sharp launches the appearances when he will be available to sign purchased copies* of the book at Barnes & Noble in Schaumburg (590 E. Golf Road) on Thursday, December 4 from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Hull will be signing at the Borders in Oak Brook (1500 16th Street, Suite D) on Saturday, December 13 from 2:00 to 3:30 P.M.

ā€œOne Goal captures the spirit of one of the greatest comebacks in modern sports history,ā€ Blackhawks Senior Vice President of Business Operations Jay Blunk said. ā€œThe book features the overwhelming support of Blackhawks fans over the past year as we continue to rebuild one of the great institutions in Chicago.ā€

The 128-page book includes chapters on the upcoming NHL Winter Classic 2009 at Wrigley Field and profiles of current and former players, including captain Jonathan Toews, 2008 NHL Rookie of the Year Patrick Kane and Blackhawks ambassadors Stan Mikita, Bobby Hull and Tony Esposito. Featuring photographs from both the past and present, ā€œOne Goal: Chicagoā€™s Resurgent Blackhawksā€ covers the revitalization of the franchise in the last calendar year under Chairman W. Rockwell ā€œRockyā€ Wirtz and Team President John McDonough and is available now in bookstores for just $14.95.

The book includes forewords from Hull and Blackhawks Play-By-Play Announcer Pat Foley and chapters written by Blackhawks beat writers Chris Kuc (Chicago Tribune), Tim Sassone (Daily Herald) and Len Ziehm (Chicago Sun-Times). Blackhawks website contributor and former Public Address Announcer Harvey Wittenberg and 37-year Chicago sports journalist Ed Sherman also contribute work.
