The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled left wing Pascal Pelletier (5-11, 191) from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs and have placed right wing Adam Burish on Injured Reserve. In addition, the Blackhawks have acquired defenseman Jimmy Sharrow (6-2, 198) from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a conditional draft choice and have assigned him to Rockford.

Pelletier, 25, leads Rockford with 13 goals – which includes seven in his last six contests – and ranks second with 21 points in 23 games this season. He shares third in the AHL with a team-high seven power-play markers. Pelletier was acquired by the Blackhawks from the Boston Bruins in exchange for center Martin St. Pierre on July 24, 2008.

The Labrador City, Newfoundland, native made his National Hockey League debut last season with the Bruins and was held scoreless in six games. He spent the majority of last year in the AHL where he led the Providence Bruins with a career-high 37 goals and a career-best 75 points in 73 regular-season contests. He also dished out a career-most 38 assists before leading Providence with 12 points in 10 playoff tilts.

Sharrow, 23, has appeared 17 games with the American Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose this season, collecting six points (G, 5A), four penalty minutes and a +4 plus/minus rating. Overall, the Framingham, Massachusetts, native has recorded 65 points (12G, 53A) and 85 penalty minutes in 150 career AHL contests over the last four seasons (2005-08).

The Atlanta Thrashers’ second choice, 110th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Sharrow posted a career-high five goals and 22 points in 44 outings with the Moose last season during his first year in the Canucks organization. He began his AHL career in parts of two seasons of action with the Chicago Wolves from 2005 to 2007.

Burish, who has missed each of the last six games, has accrued 49 penalty minutes in 19 contests this season.
