ROCKFORD, IL – The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, announced today that goaltender Ivan Nalimov has signed a standard player’s contract (SPC) for the 2020-21 season.
Nalimov, 26, spent the past seven seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) including the start of the 2020-21 campaign. In 14 games with Dinamo Riga this season, the Novokuzentesk, Russia, native, went 2-11-0 with a 3.58 goals-against average and .877 save percentage. Last season, Nalimov signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the IceHogs on March 7 just before the season came to a close.
In his seven seasons in the KHL, Nalimov appeared in 166 career contests earning a 60-73-14 record with a 2.63 goals-against average and .910 save percentage with seven different teams.
Nalimov was originally drafted in the sixth round (179th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Rockford IceHogs host the Iowa Wild on Saturday, Mar. 6 at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 7 at 4:00 p.m. at BMO Harris Bank Center to continue a four-game homestand.
