Blackhawks Assign Soderlund to Indy; IceHogs Loan McLaughlin to ECHL Affiliate

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, announced today that the Blackhawks have assigned forward Tim Soderlund from the IceHogs to the Indy Fuel of the ECHL. The IceHogs also announced that they have re-assigned forward Dylan McLaughlin to the Fuel.

Soderlund, 24, dressed in 29 games with the IceHogs this season, adding a goal and two assists for three points including his first North American professional goal on Nov. 30 vs. Grand Rapids. Last season, the Skellefta, Sweden, native appeared in a career-high 48 games with Frolunda HC and Skellefta AIK in Sweden, matching a career-best with 14 points (six goals, eight assists). Soderlund was selected by the Blackhawks in the fourth round (112th overall) in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

McLaughlin, 24, skated in 25 games with the IceHogs this season, recording two goals and four assists for six points including his first career AHL tally on Jan. 3 at Iowa. In 18 games with the Fuel this year, the Lancaster, New York, product picked up 22 points (13 goals, nine assists). At the time of his recall to the IceHogs on Jan. 1, McLaughlin led all ECHL rookies in goals and was tied for 11th among first-year professionals in points. He has points in 10 of his last 11 games with the Fuel.
