Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have activated defenseman Steve Montador from Injured Reserve and assigned defenseman Dylan Olsen to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Montador, 32, paces club defensemen with five goals and two power-play markers, and has notched ten points (5G, 5A) and a +1 rating in 38 games in his first season in the Blackhawks organization. The Vancouver, British Columbia, native has recorded 127 points (33G, 94A), a +28 rating and 779 penalty minutes in 557 regular-season tilts over parts of ten NHL seasons, and eight points (3G, 5A) and a +11 rating in 43 career Stanley Cup Playoffs contests.
Olsen, 21, made his National Hockey League debut on Thursday night in Philadelphia and registered four shots on goal, five hits and one blocked shot in two games with Chicago. He has tallied one goal, one assist and 38 penalty minutes in 30 regular-season tilts this year with the IceHogs in his first full professional campaign.
