
BLACKHAWKS ASSIGN MORIN TO ROCKFORD
Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned forward Jeremy Morin to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Morin, 19, made his National Hockey League debut on Nov. 6 at Philips Arena against the Atlanta Thrashers and registered four shots on goal, two blocked shots and one takeaway in two games with the Blackhawks. He leads Rockford with three power-play goals and has tallied four points (3G, A) in eight AHL tilts this year in his professional debut.
Originally acquired in a trade with the Atlanta Thrashers on June 24, 2010, Morin tied for fourth in the Ontario Hockey League with 47 goals and ranked 12th with 83 points in 58 regular-season games in his rookie season with the Kitchener Rangers during the 2009-10 campaign. The Auburn, New York, native captured a Gold Medal with Team USA at the 2010 World Junior Championships, collecting five assists and seven points in seven games during the tournament.
Next Home Game: Tuesday, Nov. 9 vs. Peoria Rivermen. The game starts at 6:35 p.m. The back-end of a home-and-home series with Peoria at the Rockford MetroCentre. The visit by the Rivermen is the first of five on the season to Rockford.
