BLACKHAWKS ASSIGN CUMISKEY TO ROCKFORD
Defenseman picked up 20 points for Rockford last season
Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have assigned defenseman Kyle Cumiskey to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs. Cumiskey had been signed to a professional try out contract with the IceHogs prior to signing a one-year contract through the end of the 2015-16 National Hockey League season with the Blackhawks yesterday.
Cumiskey, 28, appeared in seven regular season and nine postseason games for Chicago last season en route to the 2015 Stanley Cup championship. He also notched 20 points (2G, 18A) over 54 tilts with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
The Abbotsford, B.C., native has tallied 35 points (9G, 26A) over 139 career NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche (2006-2010) and Chicago (2014-15). He has also recorded 101 points (21G, 80A) in 207 career AHL contests with the Albany River Rats (2006-07), Lake Erie Monsters (2007-09), Syracuse Crunch (2011-12) and Rockford (2014-15).
