Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned forward Evan Brophey to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Brophey, 23, made his National Hockey League debut on Saturday night at the United Center, registering one shot on goal, one blocked shot and three hits, and winning 4-of-5 faceoffs in 7:09 of ice time against the Columbus Blue Jackets. In six AHL contests this season the Kitchener, Ontario, native has posted two goals and a +4 plus/minus rating with Rockford. Chicago’s fourth selection (68th overall) in the 2005 National Hockey League Entry Draft has recorded 36 goals and 56 assists over the course of 238 career regular-season AHL tilts with the IceHogs from 2007-10.
